The mountain of 7 colors, Cortillera de Vilcanota, Peru. Elevation 5,036 Meters.
Vinicunca, ou Winikunka, également appelée Montaña de Siete Colores (littéralement : Montagne aux sept couleurs), Montaña de Colores (Montagne des couleurs) ou Montaña Arcoíris (Montagne arc-en-ciel), est une montagne des Andes du Pérou avec une altitude de 5 200 mètres. (17 100 pieds) au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Il est situé sur la route de la montagne Ausangate, dans la région de Cusco, entre le district de Cusipata, province de Quispicanchi, et le district de Pitumarca, province de Canchis.
L'accès touristique nécessite deux heures de route depuis Cusco et une marche d'environ 5 kilomètres (3,1 mi), ou trois heures et demie de route à travers Pitumarca et une marche raide d'un demi-kilomètre (0,31 mi) ( 1 à 1,5 heures) jusqu'à la colline. Depuis 2019, aucun moyen de transport robuste vers Vinicunca n'a été développé pour accueillir les voyageurs, car il nécessite le passage à travers une vallée.

Composition minéralogique
Selon le Bureau du Paysage Culturel de la Décentralisation de la Ville de Cusco, les sept couleurs de la montagne sont dues à sa composition minéralogique : la couleur rose est due à l'argile rouge, aux fangolitas (boue) et aux arilitas (sable) ; la coloration blanchâtre est due au quartzose, au grès et aux marnes, riches en carbonate de calcium ; le rouge est dû aux argiles (fer) et aux argiles appartenant au Tertiaire supérieur ; le vert est dû aux phyllites et aux argiles riches en ferromagnésien ; le brun terreux est un produit de fanglomérat composé de roche à magnésium appartenant au Quaternaire ; et la couleur jaune moutarde vient des grès calcaires riches en minéraux soufrés.
